Tall slender stems, narrow leaves & plumes of yellow flowers. Wild variety flowers are more daisy-like than cultivated species.
Golden rod is enjoyed by rabbits and guinea pigs. In addition it grows back thicker when you harvest the tops of the plants.
A wonderfully aromatic plant, Golden Rod adds taste and flavour to dried herb blends as well as fresh herb salads.
Constituents: Saponins, essential oil, bitter principle, tannins, flavanoids.
Actions: Anti-catarrhal, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, diaphoretic, carmative, diuretic.
